Sent to me from a friend......

Never thought of this one....

CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS BEFORE LEAVING THE CASHIER'S STATION!!!!!
THIS COULD HAPPEN ANYWHERE. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE LEAVING THE STAND. I'VE SEEN PEOPLE DO JUST THAT. NOW I'LL START!
PASS THIS ON TO YOUR FRIENDS, KIDS, LOVED ONES.

I bought a bunch of stuff, over $150, & I glanced at my receipt as the cashier was handing me the bags. I saw a cash-back of $40. I told her I didn't request a cash back and to delete it.
She said I'd have to take the $40 because she couldn't delete it. I told her to call a supervisor.

Supervisor came and said I'd have to take it. I said NO! I didn't want $40 cash advance !!!!!
If they couldn't delete it then they would have to delete the whole order. So the supervisor had the cashier delete the whole order and re-scan everything!
The second time I looked at the electronic pad before I signed and a cash-back of $20 popped up. At that point I told the cashier and she deleted it. The total came out right. The cashier agreed that the Electronic Pad must be defective.

Obviously the cashier knew the electronic pad was defective because she NEVER offered me the $40 at the beginning. Can you imagine how many people went through before me and at the end of her shift how much money she pocketed?

Just to alert everyone. My co worker went to Walmart last week. She had her items rung up by the cashier. The cashier hurried her along and didn't give her a receipt. She asked the cashier for a receipt and the cashier was annoyed and gave it to her.
My co worker didn 't look at her receipt until later that night. The receipt showed that she asked for $20 cash back. SHE DID NOT ASK FOR CASH BACK!

My co-worker called Wal-Mart who investigated but could not see the cashier pocket the money. She then called her niece who works for the bank and her niece told her this: This is new scam going on . The cashier will key in that you asked for cash back and then hand it to her friend who is the next person in line.

Please, please, please check your receipts right away when using credit or debit cards!
This is NOT limited to Wal-Mart, although they are the largest retailer so they have the most incidents.
I am adding to this. My husband and I were in Wal-Mart North Salisbury and paying with credit card when my husband went to sign the credit card signer he just happen to notice there was a $20 cash back added.
He told the cashier that he did not ask nor want cash back and she said machine has been messing up and she canceled it. We really didn 't think anything of it until we read this email.

I wonder how many "seniors" or busy Moms/Dads have been, or will be, "stung" by this one????

To make matters worse ...THIS SCAM CAN BE DONE ANYWHERE, AT ANY RETAIL OR WHOLESALE LOCATION!!!

BEFORE LEAVING THE CASHIER'S STATION!!!!!

Are you sure this is a scam? Some might say it is a necessity of the retail trade to boost incomes of employees who aren't paid enough.

Cashiers partner doesn't have to be next in line. Partner just needs to show up by end of shift to be handed the profit.

This "scam" is a scam. It's fake, false, an Internet hoax. And it's a famous one, at that. Been around for 10 or 15 years now in various scenarios, usually Walmart, but not always.

Wow. After a great deal of researching and searching the entire Internet for examples of this (0.11 seconds, actually), I found this: snopes.com: WalMart Cash Back Scam

I know about Snopes saying this is a scam but unlike other scams, this one is not only hard to prove (it easily could have happened to the originator) but easily pulled off on people, especially at this time of the year so just take it as a warning to watch your receipts, etc.

Since the cashback option is my favorite way to avoid ATMs, I know the scanner [for your card, not groceries] asks first if you want cash, making you select either 'no' or an amount. If you're surprised to find cash back on the receipt later, I don't think the cashier is the problem.....:D

Last week I spent the night in a Walmart parking lot. Before going to bed I did a some shopping. I bought some oil and an oil filter, a new road atlas and a cantaloupe. I checked my receipt before leaving the store and everything appeared to be fine except there was no charge listed for the cantaloupe. Wow, a free cantaloupe. I skipped all the way to my van. When I awoke in the morning one of my kidneys was missing and I think the cantaloupe, unless it rolled under my bunk. I'm still too sore to bend over and look for the cantaloupe.

Walmart cashiers are making a fortune stealing and selling used kidneys on the black market. I sent an e-mail detailing this incident to Walmart corporate headquarters. Their response was that what an employee does on their free time is of no concern to Walmart. They were gracious enough to send me an E-Coupon for one free cantaloupe and a mail-in listeria test even though I was never charged for the original cantaloupe.

Don't fall prey to this scam! If you purchase a cantaloupe be sure it is correctly noted on your sales receipt. Please copy and past this post and send it to everyone listed in your address book. Don't let this happen to someone you love, or even like a little bit.

Thank you. The kidney you save may be your own.

Or the Home Depot scam

A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular Home Depot customers. This one caught me by surprise. Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough ti think it couldn't happen to you or your friends. Here's how the scam works: Two seriously good-looking 20-21 yr old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. Its impossible not to look. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' and and instead ask you for a ride to McDonald's. You agree and they get in to the back seat. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet. I had my wallet stolen December 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, and again on the 17th, 20th, 24th &29th. Also January 1st & 4th. Twice on the 8th, again on the 16th, and 20th, two times yesterday and very likely again this upcoming weekend. So tell your friends to be careful. P.S. Wal* Mart has wallets on sale for 2.99.

What got me look at snopes, before I read that Turtle did, was the "I'll add to this..." She said her husband got that $20 cash back using his credit card. Umm... that don't happen.

Here is another one to watch. At dennys the other day at a flying j. Was a good server. So I was going to tip 5 dollars. So I wright it
on the slip and don't think nothing else about it. The next day I have a charge of 59.34 on my card. The server took and changed the tip I put on the slip lucky enough I have very pour writing skills. So when I went back to dispute it was easy to prove not my zero. I hope the server don't work for them no more!
