A majority of the American public - with the assistance of a biased mainstream media - bought into the non-substantive concept of "hope & change" along with the fashionable notion of electing a person of color to the most demanding position of leadership in the world. Never mind that he was the most inexperienced and unqualified individual ever to be nominated for that position by one of the major parties; it was the wrapping paper that mattered - not the contents of the package.
So far Barack Hussein Obama has encountered two major events with which to deal in his young presidency - a deep economic recession and an environmental disaster. He and his team have displayed total incompetence in their ability to deal with both situations - hardly a surprise considering his total lack of executive experience and decision making.
However, as if ham-fisted bungling isn't enough they continue to make matters worse. A disastrous nationalization of health care and their insane spending programs have the potential to raise our national debt to unimaginable levels in the near future. His cluelessness with the oil spill is easily demonstrated by his lackadasical reaction and allowing the Army Corps of Engineers to take over two weeks to allow Gov. Jindal permission to build barrier berms to help protect his state's marshes. This process could have been bypassed with an executive order. Furthermore, in an obvious sop to his radical liberal base and the environmental wackos he's ordered a halt to offshore drilling for at least six months while the bureaucratic dithering continues. What many people don't realize is that while the govt. tries to find a way to guarantee that the deep water oil industry NEVER has another accident, these oil rigs (most of which aren't owned by American companies) will move to drilling sites in other parts of the world. Consequently, it could be years before the US is able to start effectively drilling offshore for it's own oil again. The hapless Obama administration seems to be doing its best to guarantee our inability to be energy independant by placing us in a position of having to buy oil from other countries at higher prices. In the meantime, China, India, Brazil and others develop their resources while we screw around with windmills.
Last but not least is the Middle East crisis looming just over the horizon. Iran is on the verge of going nuclear while the Isralis are being backed into a corner again over the Gaza blockade. Iran's Revolutionary Guard has offered armed escorts for anyone wanting break the blockade. More Muslim "humanitarian" organizations are threatening to do this after the encouragement and manufactured outrage displayed by the UN over the latest incident. How long will it be before we see an armed conflict between Israel and Iran? How will Team Obama respond to this crisis? Probably by running straight to the UN to request an international commission to study the situation and offering another condemnation of Israel (supposedly our ally) and simultaneously groveling again to the Muslims (his blood relatives). At any rate, Barack Hussein Obama has done nothing so far to inspire any confidence in his crisis management abilities - foreign or domestic.
