It seems as if we are seeing more load opps but sure not seeing any increase in load pay.

From talking to dispatch and other drivers, Van freight is up. I have seen a small increase in offers AND one thing that i have personally had is a BIG increase in Expedite loads that i have picked up from MAJOR NATIONAL TRUCKING COMPANIES...My last 6 runs were all these type of runs..paid well and had to be there yesterday.....yea we all have had one of these loads from time to time, but 6 in a row!?!? When i questioned dispatch they said there is alot more of then in the past....

Anyone else seeing this?

No! I had been doing fine until coming home last week for the long weekend. But it is just the beginning of the month so my expectations were low.

Much shorter times between loads. We waited 10 minutes today before we got a load for tomorrow.

It was the 3rd week in April that we started the current string of good weeks that would rival the past couple of years.
So we had a very good 2nd quarter and are hoping it goes on thru the rest of the year.

If you asked me in May, I would have said yes, it's picking up. Looking at the first half of 2009, the freight had been sporadic. We will have slow times punctuated with periods that rival our best year (2007) for freight and revenue.

If we use first-half numbers to project full-year results for 2009, 2009 gross revenue will be down 12 percent from 2008 levels and 29 percent from 2007 levels.

If freight picks up in the second half, we could see an improvement over 2008 but it would have to pick up and continue strong. If the present on-again, off-again pace continues, 2009 will likely come in softer than 2008.

Still, we are happy and healthy in the business and have every intention of continuing as expediters. We expect to see revenue return to 2007 levels but don't know how long it will take for that to happen.

Wierd month. Still a relative newbie to the game, but I do see offers coming a lot more frequently.

We do, however see loads that are booked improperly (wrong equipment) and cancelling loads. Lots of dry runs in the last few weeks. Had one today, matter-of-fact.

Being active means tolerating a small sleeper is easier.

Busy. About on par with last year. Seems less freight overall, but less trucks to compete with. So..........so far so good.

I see a little blip in loads for the last couple of weeks, but not enough. Hope it continues to grow.

June was definitely up, but we have been on vacation since the 3rd of July so we will have to wait and see what the rest of Jully brings once we go back in service.

May was terrible, and June was jumping. We came back out on July 6th and it's been steady running, 5 loads so far.
