Hana Express - Experience

I received this pay-scale from a Sprinter van owner/operator in Paducah, KY it is for Hana Expresss but I can't seem to find any solid information on the company can anyone provide some feedback on Hana Express?

"For spinters, I have a pay range of $0.70/mile plus fuel surcharge up to $0.90/mile plus fuel surcharge. It's based on the size of the freight. One or two skids 48" or shorter will pay on the low end since this is cargo van freight. Larger skids and shipments with 3 or more skids will pay on the higher end. My sprinters are averaging a little over 2000 miles per week right now."

How does that sound to you veteran drivers?

They're a small carrier out of Frankfort, IL. Cell phone dispatch (no Qualcomm), and do mostly NLM and other auto freight. Met a driver from there once. Seemed happy enough.

Hana is a good company and Paul is a great guy to work for.You will get paid on time every week.

Thank you for your feedback sir, since this thread/post I have been in contact with Paul @ Hana Express by phone/email, indeed seed like a stand-up gentleman. I am strongly considering Hana Express at this time (If they will have me). I see we are also from the same area, hope our paths cross in the future. - CW

How do you type out a whistling sound in letters?

.70/mile (whistling sound), I dunno... that's quite low. Sounds like a lot of work for less, the opposite of "work smarter, not harder."

For base rate, that is the same as some of the big boys like panther were signing vans for last year.

I heard .77, but I've never heard .70. Anybody who runs for .70 had better have a second income stream or be independently wealthy.

A year ago when the freight rates were down, Panther's new contracts for incoming vans was 70 cents. It's higher than that now, but I don't know if it's 77 or not. I've heard .75 and .73, but I haven't confirmed that with anybody. Mine's still 77 cents.

But there are a lot of van drivers at a lot of carriers who run a lot of loads for 80-85 cents, inclusive. Panther's 70 cents would often end up being 86 or better with the FSC, as the FSC for the last year normally ranged between 16-22 cents.

YTD my FSC is averaging 22 cents.
