Gun buy back idiocy

Liberals just love a good gun buy back where they can pay usually too high a price for junk guns, many of which are non-functional and basically worthless. In CA. someone went to their local gun buy back and turned in a Sturmgewehr 44, a highly collectible WWII firearm worth probably $25k-$30k. The genius turning it in got a $200 gift card.

When another genius turned one in during a CT buy back the state at least had the good sense to sell the gun to a collector and add the proceeds to the treasury. CA has dumber liberals than CT and current plans are to destroy the gun, destroying a valuable piece of history and creating a $250-300 deficit for the state rather than a $30k influx. Dumber than dirt liberal morons. They should be so proud.

These historical items are turning up more frequently as the estates of WW2 vets come into the hands of ignorant relatives who've been indoctrinated with the belief that guns are evil. It makes them feel good and look like a better person to their peers when they turn these vile things over to those who know better about disposal procedures.:rolleyes: Even if they had sold these antiques directly to collectors, the money would probably have felt dirty to them. You can't fix stupid.

You can't fix stupid, but you can fix ignorant - and it sounds like this is the way things worked out for the CT woman who turned in her antique German STG44.
The unnamed owner of the gun has left the valuable artifact at the police station for safe keeping.
"We did not take the gun in for the gun buy-back program," Crabtree said. "If we took it as part of the buy-back, we would have no choice but to destroy the gun. We don't want to destroy that gun."
The owner intends to sell the Sturmgewehr 44.
"It sounds like her family could use the money," Cavanna said

Looks like the two officers in charge of the buy-back program are a couple of gun experts and nice guys who were willing to work things out with this woman who is clueless about firearms. All's well that ends well.

I'd like to know what the Woman's (the one who inherited the Gun from her Father) "INTENT" was when she took the Gun to the Buy Back Program.......

Was her intent to Express her Anti-Second Amendment beliefs with thoughts of Guns being the Root of All Evil doings............so she "Expressed" her beliefs by wanting to have this weapon melted down in the first place???

Or was her Intent that one of being it's just an Old Piece of Crap Gun that Dad left to us when he died so she turned it in cause she could really use / NEEDED the $$$$ the Buy Back program was offering???

If it's the First Ideology..............Screw Her. Have the Buy Back Organizers SELL the Weapon themselves to a Museum....one where the Weapon will NEVER see the Street again........and use the Money to "Buy Back" more weapons in the Future............or DONATE the Money to Good Causes.

If it's the Second.............Help Her Out...........She didn't know..................

all gun buy back do is put cash or sellable gift cards in the hands of the thugs that stole them in the first place, they then go and buy a newer gun for their arsenal. Just another liberal feel good thing that provides photo ops and the ability to pat themselves on the back, and impress the mindless..
