Great workout inside the truck

I know someone has addresed this before but I can't find the post.

The Bally Total Fitness Twist Board (Sears $14.99) is a great workout program. I takes up no space being about the size of a dinner plate. It includes instructions for a workout that utilizes the major muscle groups and takes about 30 minutes. The only space you need to workout is the space your body takes. It is based on Pilates. You WILL feel the effects in a day or two.

Rubber tubing with handles works well also. Stretching is a great way to loosen up and work out. (Not that I use it often...) I walk a lot and hopefully will ride the bike more as it warms up.

Good ideas, I'll definately need to get something. Not only a good workout, but a time killer when you get bored. Already have a mountain bike ready for a quick breakdown for storage. Question: do you keep it (your bike) in the cab, or in the box?

You can buy hooks (Lowes, Home Depot- brackets that take small wood screws)that mount in the nose of your box near the top. The bike is easy to get to and it isn't in the way of any loads.

Coco, thanks for sharing this! Wow! Our next stop must be Sears. This sounds like it was made for a truck. I love walking but I'm not crazy about walking around a truck stop and dodging the trucks. *grin* I can't wait to try this! Thanks again for the post!!

The reason so many people know the solution is that they created the problem!

I always carried a Dahoo foldup bicycle that would take about 15 seconds to assemble then I would ride around the mall or find a park somewhere. I also used the stretching ropes that you can buy at any sporting goods store. Another item I carried was the old Bullworker that could give you a good workout.

But in spite of this a certain portion of my body is getting larger, could it be Coors light? I don,t think so, must be all that salad stuff.

Actually these twist boards come with or without resistance bands. I have the one with resistance bands but failed to mention it in my orginal post..

When I went to GATS in Dallas this year, I picked up a small cook book for OTR drivers. I read through it and found a link for a person who calls himself the OTR Chef. He has exercise tips, nutrional tips, recipes and other stuff I found very interesting.

Here is his site: www.otrchef.com

Thanks, Coco - just in time, too, the holiday excesses are beginning to appear...Ya know, I always thought the term 'middle age spread' referred to the age, not the part that spreads!:+

For exercise Nicole and I go for a brisk walk or jog, use each other as sparring partners for martial arts, and cut grooves in the floor dancing. :)

There is another EO member that has boasted about a gym in his Fedex reefer box. he must be in great shape.

You just can't resist, can you Rich? Here, the EO community had a nice positive thread going about health and fitness and then you jump in with a jab at another member. Why must you do that over and over and over again?

The jab comes from your use of the word "boast." When a member states what he or she has or does not have in the truck and how it is used, it is not a boast. Characterizing the post of such is unfair and inaccurate. The very least you could do, if you are going to refer to the member's post, is provide a link to it so readers may judge for themselves.

Your post here adds nothing positive or substantial to this otherwise very good health and fitness thread. I would expect more from a moderator.

My mountain bike is up in a loft at the front of the box. I got a 5/8
inch board from Home depart your money, cut to 42 inches by 8' and I have about 5' of E-trac 20" under the roof. Also holds some blankets...

A "boast" is in the eye of the beholder, & one man's "fact" is another man's "boast". Characterizing it as unfair and inaccurate is itself unfair and inaccurate.
As for providing a link to the member's post, this is something not everyone knows how to do. Perhaps if they did, there'd be a rash of links under member's names. Or maybe they do know how, but would consider it boasting.
I don't think providing a link to every past post referred to is a good idea, and not just because I don't know how to do it, either.

A Team I don't think I do things over and over again. Perhaps you had some misguided notion that I meant you. Nothing could be further then the tuth. The individual that I met up with last May in Virginia showed off all of his weights, and equipment that he uses and yes he did boast about what he paid for the equipment and he would allow other drivers to work out under his supervision for a small fee.

If memory serves me right I believe his name was Garry and he was from somewhere in SC,we met at the Petro above Richmond. You seem to have a very sensitive issue these days with me. Believe me when I want to post I don't sit back and worry if it will offend you.

Thanks for the link but A Teams post was written about 2 years ago, my memory is still good but posts that are 2 years old really don't stand out in my mind. But I can see where he thought I might have meant him, lots of sensitivity there for sure.
