If you find yourself the the Richmond, VA area be sure to check out a place called the Half Way House.
Built in 1760 it offers very good food in a wonderful, quiet, intimate setting. We were seating next to a warm fireplace.
This place is NOT cheap but it is well worth the money. There is a small parking lot, no room for tractors or straight trucks. We had a rental car.
Don't be put off by all the people who ate there and are no longer with us, like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Lee, Grant and many others. The food did not do them in, only their age did.
This place is a "must see" for those who enjoy good food, history, peace and quiet.
