A great day trip to see the Grand Canyon is by train. The train leaves daily from the railway station in Williams, AZ and returns in the afternoon. You have about three and a half hours at the south rim. A few years back my wife and I got a package that included a guided tour of the rim, no waiting in long lines for the shuttle tram, and a buffet lunch. There was a wild west show in the morning while we waited to board the train. The same troupe pulled off a fake train robbery on the way back. I know there is RV/ST parking at the station and of course vans and cars. Might have TT also. You can also make arrangements to stay overnight and can take the train back the next day, or whenever. This is a good way mark the canyon off your bucket list and avoid the traffic and parking hassles. Also commercial vehicles are not allowed in the park. The train gets around that. there is a web site for the Grand Canyon Railway. Jerry Lee
