GOP thinks racism ended.

Please share with us the foreign soils you have been to.

You have know idea where I've been, so it would be prudent not to assume I haven't visited foreign soils as you have stated above.
Other than Jamaica, The Bahamas, England, Western Europe and a couple of spots in Eastern Europe (before the Wall fell), in the early 90s I visited Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa with a friend who is originally from South Africa. The difference between America and those southern African nations, and the lives of the majority of the black people in them, are brutally startling.

Absolutely correct. Racism is global, not domestic. Black vs. White is a miniscule facet of racism. It will never end. Us vs. Them is inherent, not merely cultural.

Man looks for an edge. When He cannot find a rational one, He will invent an irrational one. The best we can hope for is to control it, but that can only be done on an individual basis. No law can change it.

Are you a whiner and complainer? I didn't assume anything.

Neither. It would behoove you to look up the definition of projection though.

Here, I'll actually do it for ya':

Projection is a defense mechanism that is characterized by projecting unwanted feelings onto other people.

Also, you did assume when you said this, "The whiners and complainers here have no idea what it is like on foreign soil in many places." Again, what foreign soils have you visited? Do share your prospective from your visits to these foreign soils that you speak of.

Thank you for the list of places you've been but my question was clearly directed at dave, as I quoted his comment in my post.

Projection has nothing to do with it.

And when he stated, "The whiners and complainers here have no idea what it is like on foreign soil in many places," you responded with "You have know idea where I've been, so it would be prudent not to assume I haven't visited foreign soils as you have stated above."

He specifically addressed "whiners and complainers" and you responded in the first person with "where I've been" and "assume I haven't visited." There is only one conclusion that can be reached from such a response. You denied that conclusion, yet the first person response is, nevertheless, what it is.

Yeah, and it's a public form. And since I brought up the disparity between blacks here versus elsewhere, as the subject of visits to foreign lands were brought up, it was only prudent and proper that I respond to that subject, even though I wasn't specifically asked to do so.

Let me know if you need help getting yourself out of the pretzel you've turned yourself into.

On a separate note, specifically for Witness, yes, the African-Americans of today should count their lucky stars that their ancestors were brought to America. The overwhelming majority of the African-Americans of today have it far, far better than the overwhelming majority of African-Africans do. :D

Yep, that didn't take long. There you have it folks, a blessing in disquise so says the middle aged white guy. Them ungrateful son's of bitc*es!

The only lucky star's the African Americans of today should be thanking are for the one's that shed their blood, sweat and tears to make a difference for their children.

How do you explain enter first person response?

Not sure he understands that. He is more focused on what countries I have been to. Which is quite a few but is not pertinent to whether one is a "whiner or complainer". I'm not really sure why he even answered it? Maybe just looking for cheap entertainment?;)

Is what I think: Obama was elected to 'prove' that racism has been largely overcome. It hasn't, and even if Obama were a great President, it wouldn't make any difference to the racists.
Like Turtle says, we really can't make up for the past, [and the Indian reservations prove how little we care about it, really], we can only go forward. And FWIW: affirmative action and minority quotas are not helping.

Afffirmitave Action and quotas certainly didn't, and don't work. All they generally produce is someone getting hired or promoted way past their skill level, incompetence, and mission failures. Problem is, since Affirimitave Action there ain't no jobs inside the beltway for white folk cause thay ain't no room for em there or many other government,State, County, City opportunity, cause the selector these days IS racist. And, that is not reverse discrimination........it is simply....discrimination. So yes, discrimination is alive and well.......except? Does anyone remember the racial makeup of the "line dancers" employed by the IRS and displayed on TV during the scandal??? Believe it's about time the Affirmitave Action fat cats and the Race Brokers reach down themselves and pull their bros and sisters up.....cause myh back is getting tired.

GOP thinks racism is dead, and Dems think they are our saviors from it.

On second thought... Dems think they are MINORITIES' saviors from it. White jokes? Have at thee!

The Dems have been in the past, are now, and will likely remain, the primary party of and for racists.

Of course they are. Both parties purport to be the party of certain sectors of society, when they are actually the bane of such. Small businesses are treated like shlavaka by both parties, as is the middle class. But you'd think by the reelection commercials, they would give you oral if you belonged to one of these groups.

I don't give a flip for either of those two criminal organizations we call political parties. Vote all the bums out! One must be daft to not use the mute button when one of their BS commercials come on, regardless of party. Believing them is beyond daft.

I'm not going to get into a ridiculous back and forth about grammar, punctuations, fallacies, etc, etc.

Anyone following the thread and with a hint of reading comprehension skills could see that dave responded to your post which was directed to myself;

In which dave makes it abundently clear in his following statement that he is talking about those of us here in the soapbox.

And that basically sums it up. The whiners and complainers here have no idea what it is like on foreign soil in many places.

Hence the reason for my "first person" response.

The "here" was here in America I believe.
