A problem with written communication in a forum like this is that humor is sometimes seen where it was not intended, and is sometimes not seen where it is. In this case, I chose my words very carefully so as not to be humorous.
If you look at the product videos on the inventor's web site, you will see him and his wife acknowledging the humor that some people find in it, but also being very serious about the product itself and the people it helps. They successfully rise above the vulgarity or low humor that some people immediately go to when they hear the word "flatulence."
While most expediters do not suffer from Crohns Disease, who among us has not offered up a release so potent that the windows go down even in twenty-below weather?
I have an invention of my own in mind to address this problem. For expediters that allow courriers in the truck, it may be of special interest. The problem is, whenever I try to explain the idea, people laugh. The technology is pretty much off the shelf stuff. The marketing issue is getting people to take it seriously.
Just to be clear, this post is not intended to be funny. Human beings passing gas is so common a problem that I am surprised the California Air Resources Board has not yet drafted regulations to deal with it. For team truck drivers and their passengers that share the same air in a confined space, I would think flatulance management devices would be of sufficient interest to support a market for them.
