Going "on duty" for the first time EVER tomorrow morning...

Well I signed on with Mt. Pleasant Express(anyone heard of them?), picked up my 2007 Sprinter 2500/Diesel yesterday. I've been OTR with my brother a couple of times(long distance mover), so I know how OTR can be, but this will be my first time out by myself doing my own work. I've literally spent hundreds of dollars the past few days buying everything I think I need so I don't end up buying it at truck stops....snacks, food, water, lighting, laundry soap etc. I'm leaving with $700 personal dollars(Company pays fuel/maintenance/tolls etc) to last me until my first paycheck on the 20th(If i get a load this weekend).
Hopefully my first trip takes me somewhere warm, I live in Metro Detroit, currently "feels like" 10 degrees.
I guess I don't know why I am posting this, but just so you know you guys have another Sprinter out there to sit around with...lol. Wish me luck.

Little slow. I would wait until march. Never heard of Mt Pleasant express. How long have they been in business. Did you ask them where most of there customers they haul for located at. At least the company owns the sprinter..

Best of luck to you. As others have said, it's slow right now, so I hope you don't get discouraged.

How much per mile and how often on the road for them? Are they needing more drivers?

Well you guys are right, it is slow, will be starting Monday now..I wont get discouraged, I've probably done about a solid 15 hours of reading on this forum for the past couple months, I know how it goes.

HmmMmmmmm, take a load Livonia Mi to Cincinnati tomorrow returning Saturday, or, taking Ragmama to Soaring Eagle casino/resort for a 3 day Weekend?

The company I just signed on with is literally a quarter mile from Soaring Eagle.......GOOD LUCK if you go, nice casino.

Don't take that smiley the wrong way, the solid 15 hours of reading just struck me funny. You'll be an old pro in no time

Whatever happens, this is my tenth year...just had a memory of my first call...5 WEEKS from my start date. And I'm still here.

Make sure you've got entertainment for the inevitable waiting times. I download Netflix movies from the truck stop wifi and watch them on my phone.

Still think this beats most jobs, lots of personal freedom, and when you're running the money can be good
