Veteran Expediter
AN OBSERVATION :
The low fuel prices in the west are not the only rezone to go to CA,
As many of you know ,or not...
The California CARB ,grace period have ended this week.
from now on law enforcement agency's (that's every local/or state agency) will stop issue warning , and start issue tickets for any Commercial vehicle idling for more then 5 min.
fines will go for 300$ for first violation , and up to 10K for rapidity offenders.
Many Expediters without an APU,will soon learn it the hard way ,it just dose not pay to go to CA no more.
the ones that decide to invest in new APU ,will fined that the new 2009 models are way more pricey , as they need to be CARB approved too.
this create an opportunity for the ones that are already in complaint.
it will create a shortage of Expediters willing to go west , more the ever, and will drive the base rate for those loads up.
This is the time to call your Carrier , ask for loads going west ,get your Dispatcher to be familiar with the western boards , and shippers,as loads going out will pay well too in the very near future .
This is good news for many of us.
always look on the bright side.
