Emphasis in the above quote mine. If some still think the left doesn't intrude in personal lives, there goes your proof. What the story says is the EPA wants to monitor usage of showers in hotels, to see whether some guests waste water to a ridiculous degree, and if so, find a way to MODIFY THAT IRRESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR, if possible. I totally agree that it's a good idea, and understand that those who have little or no civic responsibility would think otherwise.
.
which is why the EPA wants to take a looksee at whether it's a problem that can be resolved by nudging the irresponsible.
What I have a problem with is irs just more pork barrel government grant money.
aka get out of that shower, NOW.
So what if California runs out of water in a year, if you don't live there?
California will not run out of water. Southern California, which never had any water in the first place and has had to steal it from the Colorado River and the mountains of northern California, they might. But me taking a long shower in a Nashville hotel won't have any effect on that.
Actually I am. I'm an avid student and ascriber to chaos theory, and understand it rather well. For example, everything that California had done this far with regards to water redirection has had not only a direct effect on the Great Plains but indirectly on the entire planet. Not a believer in the 'butterfly effect', huh?
It's really not so much a case of paying attention to how much water we use as it is a case of playing attention to how much water we transport and use in places where water is not naturally found. It's a case of using water in a sustainable manner, rather than stupidly wasting it. The fact is, every drop of water that's ever been on this planet is still here.Seriously: paying more attention to how much water we use is like recycling: it's something we need a nudge to do, [most of us] because it's easier not to. Anyhow, all they're doing is trying to find out how much of an issue it is - nobody's calling for "Navy showers" just yet.
Exactly! No need to commission a study. Of course some people take longer showers than others. Some people drink more water than others. Some flush the toilet more...What I have a problem with is irs just more pork barrel government grant money.
Total water usage per shower; restricted vs. less restricted is probably a wash.
