Someone sent me this mostly as a joke, but I kind of liked it. Thought I'd better post it here instead of the Loading Dock tho!

How to get our troops home AND solve the illegal alien problem!

Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship his butt to Iraq!

Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it! He's got a job, we've got a soldier!

After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he
defended this country. He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot. This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves.

Problems solved, win/win situation!

We could also force them to build a wall! Many say that's slave labor, but I point to chain gangs to counter this. Hell... we could give them minimum wage even. There are enough illegals here taking all the construction jobs none of us Americans want, I'm sure the wall could be built in no time.

Great Idea guys but there are two problems;

First off the people who come across the border illegaly ussually have little education. Many of them don't care to get an education and for all intent and purpose this is the same thing that the Egyptians did with the Nubians, outsourced their military and the Romans took them over.

Second off there isn't a job that Americans will not do. some of the most labor intense, most foul c*ppy jobs are not done by invaders but Americans. I am still waiting for McCain to send me an application for the $50 per hour lettuce picking job.

Good idea, maybe, but it has been tried before. Think ancient Rome in its downward spiral here. The barbarians were first introduced into the Roman Empire by exactly such a policy, ultimately bringing about their downfall (one of many causes).

Yes, funny it is but not workable in practice.
