Generators

I was told by the owner that generators are illegal in Califonia. I know it is true about stationary disel generators. Is this true or is my leg being pulled? If it is true, what is the liklyhood that the law will be adopted in other states.

They may be in certain counties but I don't know for sure. We had a truck out in LA last month and they used their generator in Ontario with no problem. They were only there for 8 hours but no one complained through that period. You likely could call the state police and see what they say.
Owner may or may not want to part with $6,000 to 8,000 in cost.
