My DEZL has gone retarded on me. It is in truck mode and takes you through all these little towns down main st. I could be sittng next to the I ramp it will route me down some little road just to get on at the next exit it has also routed me in the opposite direction just to make a u-turn at the next ramp. I'm ready to give it to chef and let him do his thing.

I've got one and it can be a little squirrelly from time to time. I try to keep an eye on it by looking ahead on its screen, but over all really like the unit. Have you tried different settings to see how it responses?

My 465T will take me past the truckstop at exit 12, to the next exit,do a flip and get off at exit 12.
A mapping expert explained that the truckstop address shows being on the ramp. If I were to get off going east I'd have no way to get to that spot.
If I exit going west I can get to the truckstop.

What different settings are you talking about? the only one I know about is avoid traffic or not I chose not to avoid traffic figured it would re route you whenever a few cars were an the road. Unless you are talking about changing from truck to auto.

There is a faster time or shorter distance (mine is sat for faster) and a avoidances. Both will change your route

How long have you had it? We have noticed that EVERY single GPS we have ever used starts doing that at a year. Our Garmin is 1 year old and suddenly freaks out and can't find a signal, doesn't know where you are, or routes you backroads when you are literally right off the interstate. I think they put something in them that forces you to buy map updates after a year, lol. Seriously.

I think your right, had mine for over a year and did the maps & software updates on mine a month ago. Seems to improved the unit.

I have garmin Nuvi 700...the thing is 4 or 5 years old now. It has performed great since day one. It freezes up every once in a while and a couple times I thought it had finally died...but hit the reset and go again. As far as can tell, its as good today as it was the day I got it and Ive NEVER updated anything on it. I would love to buy a newer one, but cant give up old faithful...lol.

If you havent done so, I would strongly suggest reading the user guide from cover to cover...especially now that you have had it a while. All of these gps units have settings buried deep inside of them that greatly effect your personal experience.

The Maps update page is here, You MUST set the type of vehicle your in, and you can set it for Shortest, Scenic and Fastest routes, this obviously will make a difference, and the other settings such as entering your trucks, weight, length, height etc....but updating the maps every 90 days is really something you should do, simply connect to your Laptop get on the internet, go to this page link, enter your serial number and Updates are there....

If you havent set any of these TRUCK SPECIFIC things its going to run you thru every tourism selected scenic spot as if your in an RV.....
