FYI PER DIEM RATES

Hello all,

The old per diem rates are changing, I do not have the exact amount at the present time. but it might stay at the current rate of $41,
$ $46.00 Canada. Since it was raised last year $1.00

Last year from January 1- Oct 31 the per diem rate was $ 40.00 per day,
From Nov, 1 thur December 31, 2003 it was $41.00 per Day.

The Current diem from January 1, 2004 of $41.00 per day and will end on September 30th 2004.

The new amount if any should be release for the trucking industry around Oct 31st.

Yes. So long as you are away from home long enough to require a rest. i.e. overnite. Per Diem rates vary by city to city or for specific areas of the country or Canada. these rates are for transportation workers that are not typically in one location for extended periods. This way we don't need to use different rates for each meal in different cities.
