Wonder if you'll see this footage played as many times as the one with Bush getting the shoe thrown at him?? Me thinks I know the answer to that........JUST SAYIN'
The book was thrown by an overly eager author who wanted Obama’s support for his book. The unknown author was detained by the Secret Service but was released when they realized he wasn’t a real threat to Obama.
I just can't imagine why that doesn't warrant the same number of video playbacks on the news as an irate Iraqi journalist throwing a shoe at the President.

No, you don't see. It's not all good regardless, but what makes it newsworthy is whether or not it's newsworthy. Some idiot author throwing a book on stage isn't newsworthy, and any press he gets will only sell books for him. If the book had been tied to a brick and had hit Obama in head, it would be big news. If the Secret Service had kept the man and charged him with a crime, it would be big news. But instead, it was noteworthy only because the camera caught a blurry something-or-another flying by.I see, so if the pitcher has a good enough reason to throw the pitch then all is good.
A moron. What kind of an idiot thinks that the prez will actually pick up something that is thrown on the stage with him and vow to read and review it?
That happened way back when dollars and ratings got tied together. As soon as people tire of seeing something, it stops being played.Adding another thought....when did a reasonable explanation ever stop the media from playing something over and over??
Was it thrown AT HIM, or at AN IMAGE of him? While not in Philly, barry did have SHOES thrown at him:
