I am not one of the big 3 nor do I haul the nlm cheap freight loads. I do adjust my fsc daily and as of today I get 29 cpm for my cargo van.

My fsc is .408 thats for all dispatched miles, loaded, empty, and to layover, if I go to the layover they want me to go.This is the TT rate, and is based on 6 mpg.

Many carriers base their FSC on a formula that provides weekly adjustment of the rate so that truck owners will pay the equivalent of $1.20 to $1.25 per gallon of diesel fuel.

The "big three" is a subjective phrase, but if you are including FedEx Custom Critical in the group, this carrier calculates the FSC payments to the truck differently than most other, if not all, carriers. Cargo Vans, Straight Trucks and Tractors are assumed to get 15, 9 and 6 MPG respectively. So, each week we are told what our rate is to bring the effective cost of diesel fuel to $1.25. If we get better MPG then the FSC is more meaningful. We also get this FSC for all authorized deadhead and revenue miles.

I know that right now E1 is getting 26cpm for loaded miles, no matter who the customer is. That's only for straight trucks and it goes up or down depending on vehicle size.

every load with panther has a different fuel surcharge last week i averaged, .23 cents the week before .32 depends on the customer

On the run we are on right now, the FSC is $0.31 per mile (actually $0.3095) for all miles (deadhead and loaded miles combined).

The fuel surcharge adjusts weekly, which is a good thing. We just drove by a sign showing diesel selling at $3.959 per gallon. The Flying J down the road charged $3.859. It's enough to make a preacher cuss.

ok everyone, what i thought i was clear on i will clear up on even more. as i originally stated i wanted to know the fsc everyone was getting when hauling freight for the big 3 through nlmi [gm, ford, chrysler] some of you do not haul much of this others do. some get a flat fsc for whatever you haul, others have a fsc that fluxuates with every customer. then there are those with their own authority. so let me here what each respectively are getting from the 3 [gm, ford, chrysler] and which situation you are in, flat fsc or own authority or fluxuating and just on automotive freight. as always thanks for your responses in advance, just doing a little fact finding on this subject and will post some info after i get some responses. thanks TNT

The big 3 fsc's sux they think we should just be proud to haul their loads most of them are in the .25cpm range for TT. Nissan is too cheap also @.26 last time i pulled one for them. They just arent worth it

Sorry, Dynamite 1, I misunderstood your question. Can't help you with NLM info. We have not seen a piece of automotive freight from any source in a long time.

In the not-so-distant past I recently hauled a load for GM for .14/mile. when I get loads from the big 3 it seems to be anwhere's from .09/mile to .16/mile. Not very much in the pot for fsc. but then again. I drive a cargo van. It may be different for a B unit or so on.

FSC for hauling NLM is stoopid LOW. You would think whom ever sets the rates for them never goes by a truck stop on the way to work. Simple solution... let their freight rust on the docks. NLM IS CHEAP FREIGHT

No arguement here about NLM being cheap freight. But I can't help but wonder who hauls the stuff? Sure, there may be some poor desparate souls on the verge of going broke that take the loads because that is the only cash they can make flow before they sink. But NLM has been around for a long time.

It is not just the desparate losers hauling the stuff is it? Some people are making a living doing it, are they not?

Re: NLM...if it's a Sprinter load and with the FLAT rate FSC we do well with NLM...
