Ever wonder why printers are so cheap?

Someone calculated the cost of the ink at (you won't believe it....but it is true........)

comparing apples to baseballs how often do you buy 140 gallons of water etc at a time??? When i have to buy 140 gallons of fuel 2 to 3 times a week. 1 fill up is more than i spend on water in a month

The humor is noted and the attempt to cheer us up is appreciated. While a smile is always nice, it remains the case that the same fuel that sold for $1.25 a gallon when we started is now over $4.00 less than five years later. I know of no other product or service that has increased at that rate, and of none more essential to our life and work.

Increasingly, I am viewing high fuel prices as an evil that is working its way through the economy and changing people's lives not for the better but for the worse. Yes, there are those who will make it through to the new normal in fine shape. But that brings little cheer when we watch food prices skyrocket, vacations plans get canceled, home values drop, etc.

Phil,
Maybe coffee had a high percentage increase in the late 70's. I don't recall the exact increase but I know it was rather high because of the shortage.
