we have all heard that phrase. where have you found you have a harder time getting out of now that you didn't before?

we have had a problem around indy. the last couple times near there we sat twice in whiteland and once in kokomo.

also chicago. how can we NOT get a load out of wisc with chgo being to the south? once it was tuesday when the offer came.

sat in olive branch for a couple of days also.

Detroit seems to have picked up with a couple carriers but I noticed my cross border offers have slipped a lot in the last month.

Things haven't changed much for our fleet at all, in fact we are get freight where our old carrier could never get us a load out of. Plus being able to book our own freight helps. I will take $1.38 for all miles like this each month like the stats on this D unit truck for the month of March of 2010.

Indiana and Chitown have been graveyards.

Freight lane: another term for an area that is saturated with trucks leased on to large carriers where rates are lower due to excessive competitive bidding. I try to stay out of them myself.

Indianapolis had been great for me over the last six weeks. Chicago not great. One thing that has seemed to changed is loads to the southern border. I used to be in Laredo about every 10 days, I don't think I have been there in six weeks.

Indianapolis has been strong this month. Chicago has been ok, not strong, but not weak.

I would say that different locations within the freight lanes are ever changing, but the freight lanes themselves stay pretty much the same. Chicago isn't a freight lane. Neither are Indianapolis or Detroit. The term "freight lanes" is just another term for Midwest Hеll. The only thing that makes a particular spot good or bad is whether or not you get loaded out of it. And the primary factor in whether you get loaded out of a particular spot is a massively complicated combination of coincidence and luck.

I wish you all the best of coincidence.

Shhhhh.....

Some don't think LuCk has anything to do with it, it is all about great business skills.

Maybe instead of freight lanes, the term can be freight centers?

I delivered a load to Scottsbuff, NE. Then, while deadheading on route back to Lincoln, I got a load from North Platte to Council Bluffs. Am I smart, or what?

I'm gonna go with what. Or, hey, maybe it's because North Platte is now a freight lane.

You go to Indy and get loaded out right away, because you're smart. A week later you go there and sit for 2 days, not because you are not smart, but because the freight lanes have changed (never mind the fact that you weren't smart enough to have known that).

I don't care how smart you think you are, nothing trumps being in the right place at the right time in order to secure emergency freight.

I'm pretty sure there's only one Indianapolis, right? I'm talking about the one in central Indiana, with the circle around it. I've sat and sat and sat and sat there just recently.
