Frieghtlinner Issues

I have a 2003 frieghtlinner columbia running a 60 series Detroit.
I recently as in 2 days ago started experiencing a problem with the check engine light coming on and with in 15 seconds the engine protect light comes on, so I pull the truck over and checked everything out. Nothing was ad normal fluids where all fine, so I started the truck up and after about 5 miles it did it again. The temperature never climbed above 190.
I did not have anymore problems with this issue until today, Now it seems that every time I am running slow the same thing happens. I did notice the there was a ECM 128 message on my dash on one of the times it was acting up. Does anyone know what is cuasing this? and if so how do I go aout fixing it?

If the lights are coming on there are codes being stored. Sounds like a wonky sensor maybe.

Does the engine do anything (like start to miss) or do the lights just come on?

I had this problem with my Cummins, it was the fuel pressure sensor, actually the wiring for the sensor.

Isn't there a way for the operator to pull the trouble code out of a DD?

Nope, North Yorkshiremen, though. I could speak fairly good Yorkshire at one time, no longer. Just never heard that word. Layoutshooter

If I'm anything other than Canadian I'm part Irish, part Tennessean, part Missourian and part Ohioan (?).

Wonky......dunno where I picked it up Joe.

Greg your right, there is a procedure to get codes out of a Detroit that the driver can do IF he can count flashes and seconds! (the procedure escapes me).
