First Monday Night Football game ever at Ford Field. But it will be on Fox only, not the usual Monday night on ABC.

Shouldn't this be in the sports forum?

I agree this should be in the Sports Forum, but since the info will not be important after today I put it in the more popular General Forum to get the info out to as many as possible.

I understand, and agree to a point so it is not a bash on you at all, it is however just to remind our mods that it could be moved and ask shouldn't it. Just trying to keep consistent with my b*tching about the subjects being in the right place.

Good morning Greg.
I understand you have your rep to uphold.:)
I wish I could go to this game. Being from Florida I always wanted to know what it would be like to sit in the stands for 4 hours in 0 degree weather.

Ford Field is an indoor stadium. If you want the wintertime experience come to Minnesota and sit in the Dome. You won't be able to see a football game but you can sit for 4 hours in the cold and watch snow pour through the hole in the roof.

You couldn't enjoy the game with all the nice things that the stadium has to offer, even if the weather is cold.

THE real experience you missed out was when the Lions played at Tiger stadium and it would snow and you be right there on the 50. The days of good playing in venues that actually showed skills and professionalism as the sport should be played are long gone as are many of the multipurpose self-funded stadiums.

I learned something new. I thought Ford Field was an outdoor stadium. I am a Dolphins fan and we don't often play the Lions so I thought they still played outdoors.

You don't play the lions, it is a practice session and if you are a high school team, you can stomp on them.

You want a real outdoor game? Go see my beloved Bills play at the Ralph, anytime in December, or January once about every ten years. Make sure you bring antifreeze...in a boda bag.

I have been to the Ralph. But back then it was Rich Stadium. The game was in September or October. I bought a Dolphins stadium jacket to wear and I still wear it today. I don't remember the year but it was a Dolphins game. Marino vs Kelly. Miami lost but it was a great game.

Free Tickets are no longer available

Free tickets are no longer being distributed.

From the article:

“The Detroit Lions have announced that due to the overwhelming response this morning for tickets to tonight’s game between the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants at Ford Field, tickets will no longer be distributed at the Ford Field Box Office," the Lions said in a news release.

“Anyone already holding a ticket to the Vikings-Giants game that was scheduled to be played in Minneapolis on Sunday will be admitted and given preferred seating in Detroit tonight."

It was a good game, Jim, because the Phish lost. I haven't been there since it was Rich, either. Folks used to have season tickets.
