Ford V8s, 4.6 or 5.4 ??

I'm pushing up on 250,000 miles on my 5.4 liter... runs like a champ. Alternator *knock on wood* is the only thing that's failed so far, and that was at around 180,000.
Transmission and rear end also holding up great. 2006 E350 Super Duty.

460,000 miles on my 2007 E350 running great after changing the boots and coils. 5.4L gas engine i have used Mobile1 5W20 Fully Synthetic i did replace the rear differential at about 400K, alternator 2xs, so far so good... (knocking on wood).

Dont get a V6. You cant go wrong with a 5.4 for sure.
I have a v6 in the van I drive and had 2300lbs on her going through Colorado mountains I honestly didnt think it would pull them. 40mph was tops it would go and it was down in 2nd gear and she was screaming. Was on a back road trying to climb a hill and it had to be a 13% or higher grade it was steep and all it would do is 25. You know when your going slow up a hill when loaded trucks would creep by you lol
