Anyone know whats going on in the ford plant??
Anyone come forward and tell the story,,Only thing I know is a lift truck did some damage to a floor (broke thru??) and now
Ford isnt letting lift trucks into the straight trucks..I do know what company it was but that doesnt matter..What I am intrested in knowing is why it happened,,,Was it a bad floor Bad?
Was it due to lift truck getting to far off to one side??? Was it bad floor joists?? This is kinda a saftey issue everyone should be aware of,,and is why I am looking for the answer to what happened...and why..

They are sending 2 skill trades ppl out to unload the trucks either with chains or with a pallet jack..This seems more of a safety issue then the chance of lift truck damaging another truck. Not to mention the fact trades ppl are being pulled from their regualr job to unload trucks..I also unstand they will only tail load the truck, and shove freight in just as far as they can...
I cant beleive this will last but its been going on now for a few weeks...

Drastic safety rules put in effect, possibly not well thought out.

Attached see photo of a fork lift crash through the floor of a FedEx National trailer. I doubt PPG put similar safety rules into effect for all trailers.

Something like this can actually go for awhile as some of the union ppl will continue to cry or scream about unsafe anything, even if things are actually safe and upto standards. There's a place up here that did this last summer due to a truck moving a little when a forklift went on it. The truck wasn't designed for a forklift in the first place so the frontend lifted. They went as far as making cargo vans chock their wheels for unloading (didn't last as someone stole the chocks). While things have settled there are those union boys still following the stricter rules and the samething of rear drop of skids to be loaded etc.
