hello! can anyone tell me why ford loads are so cheap the oter day i pick up a load on a d unit and it only paid 1.10 when i can go to some 15 employe dirty little factory and pick up one at 1.50 whats up ???
How do you think they pay these "union" workers $23.97 an hour? They have bullied all the companies to haul their loads at below-average rates. Whose fault is that??
The first expedite out fit I remember cutting rates was TRI-STATE. Yup, that's right boys good ole TSE was the company that started the ball rolling to DISCOUNTED freight.
Next was a company called CTX. That's the facts. Ask anyone who has been around for a few years.
thanx for your answer to my question i expediting is kind of new to me im fortunate enough to be able to turn down this loads i still feel is not right but i guess life goes on thx.
Ya' got that right,X,I hauled some Chrysler loads for CTX @ 58% of .97 pm,'til I got wise, started turning them down,of course after 3days at the flying hook,(Gary,Ia.),I would have paid them to get me rollin'....right?
ford loads are done on lowest cost carrier verse more exspensive ones. if a cheap carrier can cover the load thier logistics company nlmi will give it to them. bear in mind that your company has set a tariff with them to move the freight for that price. but as we all know cheaper is not always better. because when they can't get the job done right they call the big boy's.
All Ford loads are posted on the internet by National Logistics (the company that handles all Ford freight) and awarded to the carrier that bids the lowest price to cover the load. If you got a cheap ford load the only person to look at is the company that you are leased to. The second person to look at is yourself for not declining it..
Hope this cleared it up..

Just a quick FYI,
NLMI does award loads based on cost. but they also do look at the service rating of the carrier. If a carrier has a high dollar amount and a high service rating and no other carrier can match or beat the awarded ETA, then the load is awarded to the best man for the job. Keep refusing those loads so it will decrease your carriers ranking and improve mine.
Well if I would have been offered that load I would have taken it. I'm a "D" unit and operate at .80 a mile. Better then sitting. I may not be getting the big bucks for that run but I'm still making a profit.
