Some random food subjects.

Never had a bad meal at any Sapp Brothers.

Never had a fast meal at any Dennys.

Best french fry was at Gates and Sons BBQ in KC, 1/2" by1/2" by 6".

The chicken is so small at Popeyes I feel like a pedophile.

Travel with a dog who refuses to eat meat scraps from McDonalds, Hardees and Burger King but loves Whataburger and In N Out burger scraps. Hmm?

We usually go out for three weeks and then home for a week so when leaving we always dumped the milk in the fridge. Not really dumped into the fridge, poured into the sink. Wanted to clear that up before some literary giant pounced on it. Last two times out we tried freezing milk and it worked. Let it thaw in the fridge and shook it, tasted and smelled just fine.

Cayenne pepper hot sauce in ketchup zips it up, pardon me if I mentioned this earlier.

Had corn on the cob at Long John Silvers and it was so short it was actually corn on the cobette.

Use to live in Cal and I sure miss El Polo Loco chicken.

Moonlite in Owensboro, Ky has the best Mutton and Burgoo.

The Gold Star Chili in Florence, KY has awesome 4 way Chili.

U S Steak Buffet in eastern NB off I 80 was plum awful.

What are your food thoughts?

Note: If this post needs to be elsewhere please move it

I like food, I get food when I am home. There have been very few places on the road that had it, or anything close.

Somewhere in Cincinnati, locals seam to be very proud of it. have no idea what it is called, but it was great.
in Minnesota we just call it 'hot dish'.

It's called Skyline Chili, but I haven't seen anything like it [chili with cinnamon over spaghetti, topped with American cheese] in Minnesota.
Course, in a state where Sven & Olaf's Pizza is one of the best, it wouldn't surprise me, lol.
PS You can get the Skyline in the frozen food section now, at many stores.

LOL!! That's Skyline. I've had plenty of that!! I lean toward either 4-way bean or a 5-way, depending on if onions are desired.

3-WAY: Our signature dish... steaming spaghetti, covered with our original, secret-recipe chili and topped with a mound of shredded cheddar cheese.

4-WAY: A 3-Way with diced onions or beans.

5-WAY: A 3-Way with diced onions and beans.

CHILI SPAGHETTI: Spaghetti covered with our original, secret-recipe chili.

3-WAY BLACK BEANS & RICE (VEGETARIAN): Steaming spaghetti covered with Skyline’s Black Beans and Rice and topped with a mound of shredded cheddar cheese.

I eat a lot of fast food, of course. But I treat myself plenty on the road. Last night was a half rack of baby back ribs at Redbone in Jackson.

About that "Cincinnati Chili" Heard on Cincinnati radio WLW I think, that its not really chili at all. They say a Greek migrant was unsuccessful in selling his home style soup until he started calling it "Cincinnati Chili" (You can have it)

Sone people will never acquire a taste for it. It's barely chili. Liking it is NOT liking chili. Liking it is liking Skyline. I don't even call it chili. It's the un-chili. I like it. I just don't seek it out over many other places.

I have learned to like it. We prefer Skyline over Gold Star. I am from Arizona and the first time I had Cincinnati chili I spit it out and said this is NOT chili! My husband laughed at me until he almost had noodles coming out his nose. Once I quit trying to categorize it as chili I could stomach it. Now when we go home we make a point of stopping in and having some.

I agree, Red. My brother in law (Houston based trucker) scoffs and makes puking sounds when in town and it comes up.

One of my favorite places on the road so far is 356th Fighter Group Restaurant in Canton OH...good food and great WWII decor!

Sounds like the dog has decent taste! :D In N Out was always my favorite when I lived in California, glad to see they are at least in the Dallas area and Florida...really wish they'd expand out into more states and that Hardee's would carry the Carls Jr menu since they are owned by same company!
