Who told you this? People have been told the same thing in the past by counter people there and it has turned out to be false.

....Yet another reason to carry a ExpediteKing card!

Lawrence...time out.....the catch here is that TA has THE WORST showers of all...IMHO, of course. In 8 years in the biz, I think I've showered at 2....the first because I didn't know any better and the second was a cleaner one closer to home.

hmmm ok well i just went up to the loyality page on the "J's" page and there is nothing there about the shower program ending and i have 8 shower credits available.....

As for the TA program, as has been said, it does nothing for gas CV's....

And a diesel CV or sprinter paying with Comdata or other funding card must prepay at the truck counter, get them to turn on the pump at the front counter, and then go pump. Drivers continually have issues with TA employees, because they have no clue about what the program offers.

Correct me if I am wrong- but the T/A card requires a van driver to buy how many gallons of fuel? 25? Plus spend $20.00 in the restaurant to get a free shower? What single driver is going to spend that kind of $ for a single meal? No deal what so ever.

I'm confused. I have a diesel Sprinter. On Sunday I was at the TA in Knoxville, TN. Around lunch time I went to the Subway there and got two sandwiches, one for lunch and the second went into the fridge for later. It was $11 and change, and they swiped my Expedite King Card at the time I bought the sandwiches.

Later that night I went to the big truck fuel islands and swiped my Comdata card, then my Expedite King card, then put 21 gallons of diesel fuel into the Sprinter. I then went into and got my receipt, which showed an additional 23 cent per gallon discount for the fuel (Panther Comdata discount).

I didn't do anything out of the ordinary and had essentially zero TA employee involvement with respect to the Expedite King Program, yet I now, as if by magic, have a shower credit that expires on Wednesday night. I'm confused.

20

$10

A very hungry driver.

No deal what so ever.
Ribeye steak breakfast or dinner, $11.99. It's the real meal deal. Buy that and 20 gallons of fuel and get a free shower. It's real easy man.

To put 20 gals in the sprinter I drive would mean running the tank lower than I am comfortable with on a normal basis. If I am going to spend ten bucks on restaurant food it sure isn't going to be at a truck stop. I could never eat two foot long subs in one day. For someone with a bigger tank or appetite I guess it could work but as long as the J has their deal I will be there.

I have been turned down at EVERY TA when I have bought gas. When I contacted TA, was told gas DOESN"T count, even though the website says it does.

Before our carrier made it possible to get substantial fuel price discounts at TA truck stops, Diane and I learned to avoid TA showers because many of them were just plain nasty. Better showers could be found just about everywhere else.

The fuel discount program brought us back to TA, and reluctantly to the TA showers for which points built on our Road King card (customer loyalty card). I read recently how TA has been upgrading its showers. This confirmed what we have been noticing in TA truck stops around the country. An increasing number of their locations now feature showers that are really nice. It is clear that the building has been remodeled or upgraded to make them so. The effort to keep the showers clean is also evident.

TA is doing a much better job with their showers. I've recently used Monroe, Mi., Commerce, Ga., and Breezewood, Pa. All very clean and decent.

Oh, man. Unless I'm doing the 15.001 gallon thing at the J, when I fill up I routinely put 25-26 gallons in there. I've put a hair more than 26.5 gallons in there on quite a few occasions. One thing about running the tank near empty on a regular basis, and regularly using a fuel treatment, is that it keeps the tank cleaner, greatly reduces algae growth and water accumulation.

Do the older body style have a bigger tank? At just under 3/8ths of a tank left I can put in 15 gals. Even when almost on empty I do not ever remember putting in more than 24.something. I have to get under a 1/4 tank to put in 20 gallons.

I have you beat OVM. It happened the other day. I needed to get to a TA to fuel up for cheaper and I did not know if I would make it, but I had a jug with a few gallons in it if I ran out. So, I did not run out of fuel. When I finally reached that TA I put in 27.003 gallons. That is when the pump stopped by itself, I could probably top it off with another quart or two. I don't know how someone can put 27 gallons in a 26 gallon tank.
I always wanted to run it completely dry one time just for my info, but this is close enough. No need any more.

In the last two years we have used the T/A showers 90% of the time. With the exception of a few of the older locations they have been nice enough to get the job done without grossing us out and we have not picked up and diseases or foot fungus' from using them. They are by no means as nice as a 4 or 5 star hotel, but they are free and the fuel discount is great.
This is just my opinion and since I really do live in a barn in Florida that should be taken into consideration.
