Heater blower finally went out last week.It had been going for some time, I took off the front panel and the 3 position swich has just about melted along with connector to the blower .My problem is that I do not see a way to remove the switch, looks like it has to be pushed out but I see no clamps or screws holding it in.On the front I also see nothing that hold the control part onto the switch.
I hate to pay A FL Dealer $79 per hour to do this simple repair so If anybody has ever replaced this switch could you let me know how.Thx

Been a few years since I worked on a FL70. But if my memory serves me correctly. You have to replace the whole panel?? On my Classic you remove the knob on the switch and there is a nut under the knob that holds the switch in place. Probably not much help.

on the older ones I believe as well that the panel needs to be replaced. I would also take care to trace that heater wire back to the blower to make sure it is ok and not melted or frayed. Especially were it plugs into the harness and down at the blower. You don't want to install a new panel and have it remelt.

the Bakelit connector that plugs the harness going to the blower has also melted and will need to be replaced.Looks like a FL dealer will be required. x( x( x(

i have replaced several. the blower switch cost less than 10 bucks from fl. to replace it you must remove the switch panel from the dash panel.next seperate the front half of the switch panel from the rear half. there are small plastic clips around the perimeter of the panel.if i remember correctly the blower switch retainer nut is in between the front and rear halves. while you are there it's a good time to replace that small bulb also. if your connector is beyond use you can replace it using spade connectors. mark your wires so they are replaced in the same relative position on the new switch. hpoe this info is of some help

All so far is good info. If you drop in Alumi Bunk in Detroit they can do it quickly and it is not that expensive. I have had it done three times there on trucks over this winter and last. It is simple to do yourself if you have the truck with you. The above directions are right on.Mine have gone bad for my drivers and that is why they stop at AB in Detroit. Good Luck.
