Could have been the polymer that's one component of space shuttle heat shields or could have been parts for Saleen/Ford GT40's since I got to wander all through the plant or maybe something else that doesn't come to mind immediately.

Kinda spooky and cool. I picked in St Louis and then a 2nd pick in Baltimore...both were at medical colleges. The Balt. pick wasnt ready so the dean invited me upstairs where the "equipment" was. Well, the equipment was still be used for training purposes on about 30 cadavers. It was the metal rods and accessories that they use to rebuild a damaged spine. He asked if I wanted to observe (I could see 'em from where I was). I declined...he just chuckled. Was an interesting afternoon for sure. Delivered to Debruy (?) Just outside of Boston.

The optic assembly for the James Webb space telescope (next generation from Hubble).

Second to that was three oak barrels full of Crown Royal Special Reserve. Unfortunately, we can't haul liquor. Were sent to pick up 'ethanol'. Yep, it's ethanol. Back of the truck smelled real good while we were there.

It would have to be either the 'experiment' that was launched on the latest mars rover, launched in Nov, 2011, OR, the traveling display of recovered 'parts' from the space shuttle, Challenger.

I took a 1 lb box of frozen carrots across the border for quality testing at a lab. I was pretty proud of that.

Yep, and even got 'read into' a project once. I am SURE that happened by mistake since it was classified Top Secret Handle Via ******* Channels only. It was a project that I once worked on when 'in the business'. Funny, they never 'debriefed' us when we unloaded. We only have 'secret' clearances with NO access. Somebody 'goofed up'.

I guess it depends on what you find cool, I hauled hundreds of loads of beer and then there was the 1800lb armored window that went across the country to be blown up.

Back last summer, a prototype Cadillac CTS body, just a stripped down body attach to a 16 ft rolling pallet. Moved it between two GM plants.

I think it was last year during the NCAA finals. I picked up a load of t-shirts in KS just after KS had gotten beat. I was at a freight forwarder's dock. I mentioned that it was kinda cruel, not only did they get beat, but now they have to give up their shirts. He laughed and says "you don't know the half of it".

Seems that same load of shirts originated (at least for this forwarder) in Minneapolis. They rushed up there to get 'em and carried 'em out to AZ. When AZ got beat, they got the call to get 'em back to KS ASAP. I guess they were tired of carrying 'em around when KS got beat and called us. I took 'em over to Lexington, KY.

If you bought a KY NCAA t-shirt last year...it might have some miles on it :D
