Finding Loads/Insurance/Help Please

Hi, I am new to this forum. I am an owner of a 2013 Mercedes Sprinter cargo van. I am currently running loads for Allstate Express. I like it but i am limited to waiting on them for loads. I was wondering if any of you experienced drivers and fleet owners could help me out.

Where can i get a decent price on cargo insurance?

Where can i start looking for loads, load-boards, or if anyone has any contacts i may use to help me find loads.

I appreciate any help i may receive.

Thanks, Peter

I doubt you want cheap insurance and sprinter insurance isn't cheap. I will blow the horn for progressive again. Not just any agent though. John & Shelly @ CIS. They advertise here on E0's home page. As far as finding loads, there is the multiple carrier option but I don't recommend it !!

I'd stick with the bigger carriers. Running your own loads is not worth the hassle unless you have your own customers. You might make a dollar a mile running your own loads, but you will eat up the extra money in cargo insurance, factoring fees, and other expenses. It will be very hard for you to look for loads all day and then drive all night. Plus it takes the fun out of expediting. I want to get out there and meet people, talk to people at the truck stops. You can't do that if you're tied to a computer all day looking for loads. Let dispatch do that for you. You will be very bitter doing thing all by yourself.
