Finding a Company

GeneralPayne

Seasoned Expediter
Hi Y'all from Nashville, Tn.

I'm new here to E.O., but I've been driving tractor trailers (company driver with all endorsements) for about 8 yrs OTR, and straight trucks for over 20. I'm ready for a change. I'm researching buying my own van or truck and leasing on with an expediting company. I'm really fed up with over zealous recruiters telling me whatever comes into their little minds to get me to sign on only to find out afterwards that half of what they said was either outright lying or full of those hidden conditions (never mentioned due to selective memory) so you can never live up to them to advance. I don't want to buy my own truck and go through this now WITH PAYMENTS! When companies find out I have no accidents, tickets, or police records WHATSOEVER, they'll say ANYTHING!

Could I have some feedback from some of you professional, experienced drivers of companies to consider and who to stay away from. I am home based near Nashville, Tn and would like to be home every 7-10 days. I would prefer a Sprinter van or cargo van position since I have the tools to do alot of maint. myself, but if the right offer came along I'd consider a bigger truck.

I look forward hearing from you. Keep the shiney sides up!
