WTH?!!!
Just the words "in a location known to law enforcement, and does not currently have the ability to travel anywhere" is about the scariest thing I've read in a long time.
Note: because I actually woke up in Texas, that's a pretty high goalpost to clear.

Same Maryland where the Pop Tart Gun episode happened. They were merciful to the child, though, only giving him a two-day suspension.

He didn't bring a gun to school, or anything [like a Pop Tart] that 'resembles' a gun, he wrote a freakin book! Science fiction! Under a different name! [Because authors do that.]
If a writer can be spirited away to an undisclosed location and prevented from traveling anywhere, because he wrote about a school [many years in the future] being the site of a mass shooting, we may as well be living in Russia.

The original story [linked in the OP] has some interesting updates: the teacher/writer wrote a "4 page" letter to school admin over the summer, in which he complained about some coworkers and his mother [?!].
Well, if that's sufficient evidence for being hauled in for a mental health eval, y'all can figure it out if I disappear soon.
