FedEx has had that in place for many years and its worth every penny you pay. If your off for more than 7 days it will start to pay you on day 8. Most places you have to wait 30 days to start getting any kind of income. I had to use it and got paid on time each week. Protective is a great company.

We too have used ours. We did not miss any time but it paid all the doctor/hospital bills. Glad we have it. Layoutshooter

That is kinda cheap...look into other options if you have a choice...OOIDA offers plans with nice coverage at flexiable rates..I have a 2 million dollar policy and it runs about 140 a month...one of my drivers chose to have Panther deduct it from him and it it $38.50 a week for a $50,000 policy. Certian states, NC for example require you to have it if you have a residence in that state or work from that state, others do too but not sure which one, just had experience from NC.

Yeap, i just got my letter from Bolt yesterday. While it wasn't a reqiurement in all states or companies, some companies did require it, bolt did not. Now the FED requires it. A good thing? some will tell you yea, some will look at it as the gov sticking its nose into your business. to me its just another cost of doing business.

I'll be calling Betsy monday and having it added the policy I already have with them.

I figure it is just another way for the government to pass the cost of their "entitlement programs for those that can't pay onto those that they figure can..........not a direct tax, but certainly a "indirect" one.......If you can pay for your own, that leaves the gov more to pay for those that they feel the need to help............As has been stated by people more intelligent then me, "liberalism is a mental disorder!"

In my opinion if were something that a person got for nothing like say Food Stamps then I would classify it as an entitlement program. Although even with food stamps the ones who need them often times can't. Like my 74 year old grandmother with dementia. She is a widow and doesn't got much on the Social Security she draws on my grandfather. She applied for food stamps and was offered 14 bucks a month. Any way back to topic.

I think people paying for worker's comp insurance is a good thing. I have had to be treated from work site injuries under worker's comp 3 times. Once a guy dropped this funnel looking they on the loader trucks for the crop dusters on my shoulder from the top of my auger trailer. I was on the ladder with him and he was scared of falling so I had my hand on his lower back to steady him. I know the company crowd will say all my fault should have done this or that. When driving for Panther I was walking through a plant mis stepped on a dry perfectly even floor and broke my ankle. Another time I overheated, passed out and busted my head. That company didn't want to file it on worker's comp, but they didn't want to pay either so I filed it on my on through the Arkansas Worker's Comp Division. I don't know if I'm clumsy or if Murphy likes riding with me. Another time I fell out of the back of a dry van and broke my wrist. I was close enough to my VA I just caught a ride there and had it put in a cast. That way my doctor would know what was happening from the word go.

I've never actually collected pay from worker's comp because I've never taken time off with my injuries. I just get casted, slinged, or stitched up and then go back to work.

I have more insurance of all kinds then I will ever use. Government coverage is not a right and it is not constitutional. When someone takes my money (the government and taxes) and gives it to someone else as a benefit, thats thief. When I give my money to someone for their benefit, that is charity and is something i choose to do. Show me in the constitution, DOI, or the Bill of Rights Where SS, Workmens comp or any other government entitlement program is mandated......

I have no issue with helping people when they need help and have and do on a regular basis, but it isn't the governments place to do so..........Thats one of the reasons our country is in the mess it is in.....liberal entitlement programs........

So now with this latest mandate from the fed government, they have just added to my expenses with coverage that will duplicate coverage that i already have under other policies....all they have done os add to my business expense and give me another deduction
