I haven't seen a 12% rate increase in the past two years. I haven't seen any rate increase in that past two years. I don't work for FedEx Freight nor am I an employee of any LTL carrier. The third paragraph in your linked article pretty much excludes me from getting a raise:

LTL and truckload carriers at recent shipping events said higher operating costs, especially for labor and equipment, make higher rates and cost-cutting necessary.

I agree, but don't see it happening anytime soon. Until the economy picks up and stays steady there won't be enough "real" jobs created to get these desperate people out of cargo vans and back into office buildings and factories where they belong.

Here's the plan. Fedex will get LTL rates to where straights can pick-up 2 pallet+ plus LTL shipments and run them dock to dock beating all other LTL by a day or more.
Once we've killed the LTL market our 4000 truck fleet WILL have trucks literally everwhere and we'll takeover the expeditor industry.
Most of you will enjoy working for Fedex in the future. Projected fleet d/h of .08%
Green,you've got my number.

If I picked up 3 LTL shipments today in KC that I del in Chgo tomorrow the rate would be so good that everyone will want to be here. 4250 trucks in 3 years because we'll keep moving. Good old days income too.
Just sit back and watch.
