Why would a shipping company try to promote small business? More small business is more freight to ship.
Huh? If I get a $25 card and spend it locally at a small business: bakery or hairdresser or hardware shop, how does that benefit shipping?
Makes sense to me.
Even if it made perfect sense, it's still hilarious: the biggest of big businesses shilling for 'small business' - I wonder if they'll promote the concept on their jumbo jets and at FedEx Field, too.....
We had a load offer once to ship a cake. GOOD paying load too. NYC to the Biltmore estate. I have shipped for Hickory Farm, 3 stores. Denny's, 15 stores. Delivered a safe to a gas station/pizza shop. Delivered and picked up paintings at private homes. Delivered a TV to a private house. A good 25% OR MORE of our business is into or out of small business.
Small business RULES!! If I ran FedEx I would be pushing them as well. MORE business, more shipping. More shipping, more work for me.
