It is impossible for me to answer the poll based on brand. I have been to excellent locations for all of those and I have been to very poor locations for all.
The local ownership and management can make all the difference.

The cleanest shower in a TS I have ever used in was in a Pilot west of Flint Mich. But by far, I'll spend the night at a "J" if possible.
By the way, It a shower is what I consider clean, i'll track down the person that cleans them and "Tip" them... I certainly wouldn't want to clean up the place after a bunch of truckers....

Whichever one won't haul our truck awayto an impound lot while we are in having a shower!

You asked which truck stop "brand" is my favorite. Mine is Pilot. You didn't ask why, so I ain't elaberating just to have some one else tell me I am crazy. Pilot, Pilot, Pilot. And you didn't even put it on the list. They got good coffee and a place to pee. I don't sleep in truck stops, so I don't care about the rest of what they do or don't have. But I vote Pilot.

I voted for T A,why you ask?cause I get a big discount on their fuel.Many say they aren't the cleanest,that doesnt matter to me,what matters is what I pay for fuel.On ocassion i will eat at a TA,I like their steaks,much more than Petros or Flying J's.As far as sleeping,if my truck is stopped and we are a sleep,you most likely will find me in a motel,and that choice is Days Inn,not the best and far from worst,I just feel you get your moneys worth,especially with the Corporate Lodging card

I like different truck stops for different activities.
For laying over: Petro - because of the movie theater
For fuel/shower: Flying J - because I get 1/2 shower free with 20 gallons fuel purchase (I have a 26 gallon tank, so the free shower with 50 gallons does not work for me)
Food: Wal Mart
TA, rarely stop there, too dirty for my liking
Pilot, never stop there unless I really need fuel and nothing else around, since I was run off from one by the rent-a-cop thinking I was a homeless(mind you, I look pretty decent, clean clothes, etc) and when I told him I am a truck driver, instead of appologising, he tells me that most panther(I was with them at a time) drivers stay in their trucks. I am sorry, but I just parked, I was looking for a phone to call panther and for some food. Too bad, they lost a customer, this was the pilot somewhere around Nasville, I forget exactly since it was in 2005.

i use pilot and loves to transflo paperwork. as a place to stay in a van it is the j with the larger parking lots for the folks coming in for the restaurant.
petro in lr had nice showers and the petro in ky on 75 has nice theatre but no place to go plug in and surf or read. that is a big part of my off time.

Dang!! I just posted the the cleanest shower i had been in was in a Pilot outside of flint, well I have to change that now with no disrepecting that Pilot, but the J here Haw River NC just got that honor! I am telling you, the guy that cleans the showers here does a better job then my wife, and she is a perfectionist when it comes to cleaning!! I tracked down the manager, the maintainance manager and the guy that cleans them and told all 3 that they did an outstanding job of cleaning those showers! and the tip to the janitor was appreciated, he couldn't thank me enough.
Now lets look at my needs and why I stay where i do,

Food, i have only ate in a TS 1 time since last sept when i statred.. my frig is full when i leave home and when it gets low, I head for the Walmart. I do get a pizza from time to time and I will do a good Steak house twice a month and aBBQ place a few times a week if i can find them. But for the most part, I can cook more and better food in my truck with the frig, micro wave and butane burner and a few pans and a iron skillet...
Showers and the Restrooms, clean is important
Fuel, The J gives me a free shower when i have 50 gallons of gas accumulated, usually twice a week.
Place to sleep, The biggest best lighted lot
Most often the J is where you will find me, but after that it is a Pilot, then Petro or Loves, TA last on the list....

I would have to say that my company's home terminal has the nicest facilities for a driver that I could ever want. I'm laid over there right now, probably until tomorrow. They have provided me with a recliner, a 42" plasma tv with surround sound, a fully equipped kitchen, free showers, and a queen size memory foam bed. I can't complain.

Yeap I USE to be able to knock back a few pots also, but if you read the Fav Resturant post, I eat prilosec every morning now! yoiu can put 2-3 finger in the hole in my gut!! 5 cups is all this old guy can take anymore.

independent stops can be great! example: Big Souix t/s ,Grand Forks,nd. large parking,great restraunt and some of the best maintained showers anywhere.
Others Little America in wy and jubitz,portland,or for theater and restraunt,parking ok showers ok.
