All right, let's hear from the crowd, who's your favorite small carrier that you work for? Why?

I would have to say Transtewart i have been with them for a short time but they are very easy to deal with. They have a open door policy and they have under 45 trucks last i knew. And that number is total for all not just straight trucks. They call you every day to get a update on your location usually first thing in the morning so they can start looking for loads. Also there is no Qualcom so it saves me money.I hate them dumb things. Also there is no penalties for not taking a load.

I remember my large carrier days, Had my A** handed to me. Done it all by the book to. I love the smaller carrier I am with now and sorry they wern't putting on trucks when I first started. But I will still make the point, you gotta do your homework when looking to find your right fit.

In 1984,Roberts Express was a small carrier,so small they didnt even know you had to log empty miles,we even got paid before we turned the paper work in. Boy were those the days.well needless to say that was my favorite small carrier,to bad they grew up to be as big as they are today, not quite as much fun now,and bottom line,my net pay is about the same,of course I now pay a co-driver that in the 80s was invisable, should I have said that?
HAPPY HOLIDAYS and here's hopeing 2007 is your best year

the only thing more favorable than being the carrier is working with a carrier that lets you be the carrier.Does that make sence

I mean to find someone that puts you in 100% control of there truck.

we spend more time complaining about ourself at the carrier I work with rather than complaining about the carrier.

John is a interesting guy to get to know.
He is taking a different approach to trucking he is saying that any company that is worth signing on with should give potential o/os
a chance to team with the owner of said carrier for up to 30 days before they pull there truck from the carrier they are leased to and see how things work at his carrier he says hes putting his name on the side if anyone thinks they got what it takes to be successful on there own then they need to partner with JTA.he takes you on the road for up to 30 days and shows them how to be independant give them access to all company freight in the system to pick and choose from not just his carrier but every customer he does bussiness with. so one day you may load a load for landstar and the next might be your carrier that your leased to now.he is paying every operator same day loads are deliverd.and you have the choice to load yourself or call into operations and get a load he lets you negociate the rate or you can run on a flat rate your choice.if your in an e-unit and dont have a trailer he gives you power only options.it really is good to be in control of my own bussiness and having someone there to give me so many options.there freight or mine I like it like that.see john is a real owner/president he still drives everyday but he will always be there for you.if you have your own truck or need a truck you should give john a call and get the scoop from him.I dont know what he is doing with cargo vans but I run a d-unit and havent sat any day yet that I didnt want to.his email is [email protected] im sure he would be glad to know this owner/op is pleased and dont think I will ever need to change again.

My vote goes hands down to A. Blair Enterprises.

Thanks to all the fine folks there that gave me and my wife and kids a very merry Christmas against all possible odds!

Just FYI - - I was on the verge of having to sell my truck, facing bankruptcy - and find a new carreer agin, but - - Shawn, Dave, and all of the others saw to it that I could not only make my payments but also make enough in three weeks to pay my past due bills and buy nice presents for my wife and kids for Christmas!!

All I can say is a heartfelt THANKYOU and I totally look forward to a great New YEar with A. Blair!

Thanksonce again and God Bless you all!!!!!

KW,

I heard good about them too so I thought I'd give thema try - and I am here to say it is true.

They are a no BS company and lay it out in black and white before you sign on.

Anyway, I am greatfull and, if the expedite gods are willing, I plan on A. Blair being the last set of signs on my doors!

Thanks to all the fine folks at EO and A blair for a very MERRY CHristmas!
