There was just something reassuring about that voice. "And now you know the rest of the story" became a catch phrase that many of us have used from time to time. A 7 decade career, wow! How many achieve that? Truly a legend.

I just heard this on TV..Paul Harvey, and if you were a mid west baseball fan, Ernie Harwell , you never forgot those 2 voices.......
What a wonderful set of pipes Ernie has. I miss him calling the Detroit Tigers games. Just as I have missed Paul's voice. Layoutshooter

I loved listening to Paul Harvey. He always had an interesting broadcast. He will definitely be missed and impossible to replace.
His Son actually wrote "The Rest Of The Story" segment for him. Occasionally his son would fill in had the same sort of pauses and read the ads the same way Paul Harvey did. Although his voice was different, I wouldn't be suprised if he will be asked to take over for his Dad.
So I'll have to agree with his being missed but not so impossible
to replace. He taught his Son well.
