Fact or Myth ?

The other day I was talking to a cargo van driver that had recently signed on with CTX and he said that in orientation they said that CTX had lost their business with the big three auto makers, now this driver was new to expediting and didn't seem to know enough about the way things work to be worried but he said he felt as though he shoud have ran knowing what he knows now.

Has anyone else heard anything about this?

Be carefull out there!:)

That's the first I've heard of it.. but .. if I remember correctly, that was a major portion of CTX's freight! Hope they've branched out as other companies have....

Automotive freight is not everything! Don't get me wrong, they make great filler, but give me un auto related freight anyday! They are probably not on the preferred list but they are on the list. Don't sell this company short, they've been in business quite a while and will find other interests to maintain there business levels if needed.

Sharp,

Ditto what Glen said.

Most of the larger expedite carriers do not depend on automotive freight anymore. Hard to believe -I know. But they have moved on to bigger and better things...and the people said? AMEN!

I USE TO BE LEASED TO CTX UNTIL THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR, AUTO FREIGHT WAS THERE MAJORITY THAT WE PICKED UP WHICH INCLUDED LEAR, AND A FEW OTHERS THIS WAS CONSIDERED CHEAP FREIGHT WHICH IT WAS, BUCK A MILE LOADED AND WE RECIEVED $ .58 ON A DOLLAR. NOW I THINK THERE PAYING AROUND 80 CENTS A MILE.
AS WHATS GOING ON NOW I HAVE NO IDEA,
BUT I WOULD NOT WORRY ABOUT THEM, THEY ARE OWNED AND OPERATED BY CENTRAL TRANSPORT INTERNATIONAL, BASED OUT OF DETROIT. AND HAVE SOMETHING TO FALL BACK ON. THEY CAN ALWAYS PICK UP THE LTL FROM THERE CENTRAL TRANSPORT TERMINALS IF IT BOILS DOWN TO IT.
THERE SUBDIVISION INCLUDES, THE FOLLOWING TRUCKING COMPANYS
MOHAWK, ALLEN, CHERCAW, ECONOMY, NOT SURE ABOUT ALL BUT THEY ARE ALL OWNER OPERATER SETUP EXCEPT PAM BASICALLY ANY TRUCKS THAT YOU SEE WITH THE COLORS RED AND BLACK. ARE THERE'S.

I heard they did the same as Tri-State and decided not to work with NLM any more. One of their drivers said CTX claimed NLM was paying them less than the accepted bid on some loads. Sounded suspious to me and to him as well. CTX would certainly have legal recourse in that case.

HOwdy ya'll I wouldn't be worried about a company like CTX.. After all they are Central Transport.. One of the nations largest carriers, The parent company of 80 other trucking co's.. If anyone can generate business I would think they could.. Good Luck out there, Andy (a.k.a. Kurrupt on CB-19) Oh, by the way I am not an Expediter anymore I sold it and bought a Semi. No regrets at all. I hope you guys don't mind me stopping by here still.. ;)
