Face to face with Gene Dunlap...Typo?

In Jeff`s article the following quote.

A 122' box? Wow,Where would you park that thing?If it should be 122"(10ft2")This would be a B unit.

Confused are I.

You've got some sharp eyes there Redytrk!

Actually, it reads correctly. Gene has a 122 foot cargo box on his straight truck. He has never had to turn down an oversize load, but he admits that it's a little tough to maneuver on city streets.

It wasn't mentioned in the article, but Gene has a co-driver whom he refers to as the "tillerman". This driver sits in an elevated cab on the top of the cargo box and steers the fully-articulated rear axle wheels to assist Gene in negotiating those tight turns and backing into a dock.

Gene says, "Unfortunately, I've had a problem with driver turnover in that position because of low clearance issues, especially when I get on the wrong routes in New Jersey."
