Face It: 2013 Is Gonna Be a Bummer - Businessweek

Whether it’s Barack Obama or Mitt Romney taking the presidential oath of office in January, someone will have the misfortune of overseeing an economy that looks a lot like the one we have today: low growth, persistently high unemployment, and huge amounts of debt. Depending on what happens with the “fiscal cliff,” there’s at least a chance the U.S. will be in recession. The mere threat of $600 billion in tax hikes and spending cuts is already delaying business spending. Yet even if Congress does broker a deal and the worst of the fiscal cliff is postponed, 2013 is shaping up to be a rough year.

2013 will be a challenge....

I think just the fact that if Romney is elected, and Obama isn't going to be president for another four years, it would unleash a huge amount of economic activity and create booming economy. In other words: "The fiscal cliff is grass and the booming economy will be lawn mower."

I don't see ANY spending cuts coming.
up until the very last day, this administration will keep on the printing machine.
IF there's a reelection then a new wave of payoffs & stimulate money is in order.
IF there's a new king in the house - well, to date he did not mention any significant spending cuts.
AT any case, the big question will be whether the Houses belong to the same party as the President. a democrat senate and an submissive house will go long way for the spending machine.
