iontheroad is a cool new FREE app. for all smart phones.
help drivers avoid distraction, and well, keep their eyes on the road.

you will have to mount the phone on the windshield,
then it'll:

* alert you of "lane departure"

* following to close.

* collision alert.

*if you are involved in a n accident, of traffic violation, a quick one button push,(on the tuch screen) will save the last 30 sec, of video recording.

*the snapshot is a cool item, quickly take a pic./video, and send it immediately to your Facebook,Email,ext. account.

*it will also rearrange the icons on the screen for easy to use driving mode.
* & read your incoming text messages .
*once you park your car, it'll automatically take a picture of your parking spot, and will find your vehicle for you, just in case you forgotten where you left it.

advance use of the app will also allow you to:
*connect to your Google account and "view" the road ahead as it is being recorded by other on line users.
*connect to a navigation map, and can be used as GPS.
*score your driving habits.
and much more.

While not listed on their "works with" list.. My evo 4g just meets their requirements. I'll try it out tonight if I can find a mount for the phone.

Kinda defeats the propose if I hold it so the camera can see ahead.

Runs on my phone. Blind as a bat at night. Looks promising. I can see tail lights very clearly on the phone but it must need something large to lock on to. Even behind a t/t is could not see it.

That's very cool.I will check it out. Gonna be a huge battery drain so make sure the unit is charging.

I got about an hour out of mine. That included running wifi tether that can drain my battery in 1.5 hours.. So yes, keep it charging. But for a quick test run it's not required.
