Hi All,
For those who have not filed there tax returns for 2012 yet, I hope you filed for an Federal Extension, and some states require that you filed a paper extension with them in order to say the late filing fee involved for both. it is roughly 22-25% of the tax owed if any. If you did file for both, make sure you get the information to your preparer like within this coming week, If they have a lot of extensions, they might not be able to get to all of them by the deadline. The real reason for this is that if you are out of state from where he/she is the paperwork for electronic filing, consent to use, and your way of payment to hiem/or her must be paid prior to filing your return. So make sure you get everything to him/her in time to be considered Timely filed.
