Expediter's School

I was just curious is there an expediters training program? and if not I wonder why not? You know a course that would teach the driving aspect plus what expediting actually is maybe some business planning and things that would fit in good in a curriculm that would be expediter based instead like the regural truck driving schools. plus wouldn't this be a good place for owners to meet with and interview potential employees. maybe the owners could offer to make part of the payment every month as a way to attract new teams. all in all wouldn't this provide the owners with a better driver than say someone who just passed the cdl test by the skin of there teeth and can barely keep the truck between the lines? just a thought.

If it wasn't so restrictive to open a school in Michigan, I think this would be my goal.

It is actually under development now.....and no...it does NOT have an exorbitant sign your financial life away price tag associated with it.

There is a truck driving school in Dayton, Ohio that is opening an area for expedite trucking - i.e. straight trucks, operating liftgates, APU's etc. Will share more information as it becomes available.

what is so tough about expedite, you just need to be lazy enough, that sitting around doesnt get you down.all it is is a hurry up and wait type business.know matter how much you show someone how to make money in this business, the game will change.
every expedite carrier has their own way of doing business, their own way of paying the owner opperator, and there is no way a school can prepare you for what you are about to get into.
the work shops help the most, but I just cant see how a school, would be beneficial
some days i o everything the company wants me to do,and I make the money I need, there are other days,if I did that,I wouldnt make enough to pay my bills.
this is a business, that you cant figure what your making one load at a time,or even one week at a time, you have to go by the average you do by the month, and must always have a positive attitude

There is one functioning school that I know of. It is at my place. All of my drivers "get" to run with me for a couple months or so. It's not always "fun" or, pleasant, however, the time spent is educational. And, an introduction to the real world. Could be titled a wake up call. The successful ones generally end up at the top of the earnings scale. And, have no doubts about whom does what to what, or, whom does what to whom in this business.

I was listening on the XM on business when one said "read three or four books on a topic your intrested in, plus the last two months magazines on that subject" and your likely to be close to being an expert on the subject.

Is that what the EO is not here for?

Now Expert can be defined in anyones mind in different ways, I came here with no trucking back ground at all. Because of research, and talking with many of those who post here I would like to think of myself as being an expert an expert who is still willing to be critized and learn from my mistakes and those of you kind enough to share your failures as well as success's.

So one would be willing to spend $ to learn this business when we are offering expertise college professor education for nothing? I do not get it. Good luck with paying for the education.

I agree with Nightcreature on this.

No school can possibly prepare you for whats in store.

The only thing ID say is talk to the old one's Like Nightcreature

that can tell you what to and not to expect (the good the bad the

ugly) so to speak.

Have a Safe One
and God Bless

I wasn't asking in the sense that I was wanting to enroll in one I was curious of what some people's thoughts on the subject might be.
