Expediters Retreat

Alright bare with me here. I've been looking for land in Ky for my new house and/or campsite. I found this: http://www.landandfarm.com/lf/s/63/77999.asp
Okay, it's $200,000 min. Heres my plan... If I can find 198 people to invest $1,250, I'll take a good portion of land and make it into a expediters retreat. The land has great road access and is 1 hour south of lex, ky. I would improve a porition with a good size parking lot and intstall upto 20 camping cabins to stay in free of charge. There would be electric, water, and anything to make a nice getaway. A large portion will be fenced in for animals, I have my clan of 30+ coonhounds, 2 horeses, a moo moo cow, tons of cat (for the coonhounds to chase of course), and a lama. You have to have a lama! Now for the legal portion, for the $1,250 you'll get a 1/4 acre of land on deed + min buy out price of $2,000 for the 1st year incresing by 2%/year. Alright there go! Any thoughts?

You know this would be a great idea but I would advise getting a lawyer, forming a corporation (regular one that is, C corp) and selling shares of the company instead of the property. This way there is less liability, less hassle in selling the shares and fewer headaches for everyone involved. I speak from experience.

But outside of that, I too would love to have people invest in my idea â€“ a non-profit teaching amateur radio and disaster preparedness but I havenâ€™t asked for a dime because I feel I have to show my commitment to something this important first by putting my money into it â€“ which I am sort of short of now. It would actually take less than 5% of what you are asking for to get started and it would help others but this is not the place to ask.

I know I will hear from someone on this, but oh well.

there is 2 lakes, . we cam have p2 agiamst fedex paintball wars! im driving so forgive the spelling. we can get a beef moo moo and have fresh steaks. ive alawys wanted a place i can do anything i want. im going to dig a big hole, dont ask why. how bput straight truck drag races? my c9 will beat ur mbe, lol. anyone intrested?

Ok it wont be a retreat with out a camel!! I agree on the corporation to protect yourself. Keep posted information about this place. We have spent lots of time trying to figure out just how to make this idea work either in the Texas or Arizona areas.

8" touchscreen on the dash, wireless keyboard and a sprint evdo card! Works out very very nice, play poker and games while driving, have full gps navigations and lastly type mesg to eo.... Have to find someway to pass the 11 hours.

You've got to be kidding. You can't seriously be diverting that much attention from your driving. If you are doing this stuff while driving down the highway you have no sense at all. I'm sorry to be blunt and harsh but that's total foolishness to do that while driving. That's why I was praying I misinterpretted what you said. The lawyers will eat you alive when there's an accident and you were paying attention to games and forums instead of driving and if someone is killed as a result it's vehicular homicide.

Yes, diverting attention to typing forum messages and playing games guarantees there will be one. The only question is when. That is total foolishness. If that's a fleet owner's vehicle they will be in for a world of hurt as well when the litigation starts.

Well back to the topic of this post, Expediters Retreat. After reading some responses I figured I should do it country club style. $1500 for membership and $500/year after for unlimted use. The 1st 200 people would get lifetime memberships for the $1500. And so far, we have a lama, a camel, 30 coonhounds, a moo moo cow, tons of cats, a "tiger", and the list continues. I'm in talk with the current owner of the land to see if this even legaly possiable. Some people dont like seeing 100 trucks parked somewhere.

-On The subject of me typing while driving. I've never have had a problem do what I do. You think thats bad? In my previous job I used 2 phones, anserwed a pager and ate while driving. I like to mulitask! And also I do things on the touchscreen at 330am and I havent seen a truck in hours. It goes off as soon as there is traffic and/or construcion.
