Question for Lawrence and those who have attended all or almost all of the Expedite Expos. When was the first Expedite Expo and how was attendance? Lawrence do you have any pictures of that first one?
We attended our first Expedite Expo in 2004 in Detroit and while the show was much smaller then it is now the quality of attendees was still exceptional. Most of the vendors were under a huge tent in the front parking lot of the truck stop while many of the recruiters were around the parameter of the tent either getting rained on or getting sunburns. Inside the truck stop were workshops and we had two very full days of asking questions and writing notes.
At this time a expediter truck beauty show was also going on. This was the jackpot for us as those drivers were stationary and we could ask them a million questions. Those drivers had their trucks open for everyone to see and to ask questions of. We enjoyed looked at actual working trucks better then looking at the new trucks as they were reality. The show truck drivers were the real recruiters in our eyes. We asked questions of the companies recruiters then would ask the same questions of the drivers for those same companies. All replies were carefully written down for later consideration.
Once again at this years Expedite Expo there will be a Expediter truck beauty contest and we will be letting people inside our truck and sleeper. We will also have the back of the truck open to show what equipment we carry and what each piece of equipment is used for. This is our tenth anniversary of attending the Expedite Expo and we are still happy to give back to a truck show that has given us to much.
