ETA Lock

This is a totlly new one for me. It applies to FDXCC units but could also happen with other companies.
Two weeks ago I arrived in Buffalo on a Monday at about 1130. I sat all day Monday,Tuesday and Wedensday with no offers. Other trucks appeared to getting out every day. On Wedensday evening I received a dispatch call with a trip from Ontario to Delaware. After I agreed to take the run the dispatcher said"I can't put you on this trip as you are ETA Locked, hold on." She came back and said "I had it removed" ,turned out on Monday they had put a quote out to a shipper and locked me for the load(without my knowledge or approval) and failed to remove the lock when the shipper didn't call back.

I was poed big time. I said" Why wasn't I notifed about this ETA Lock.? When W/Glove locks you you can tell, when a Customer Intimate lock is put on you can tell, when a California lock is put on the truck you can tell..
If you are going to lock a truck for any reason that truck should be aware of it."

The next day I complained to my CC about this and asked for detention from the time this ETA Lock was put on until I received a run. She was very upset and said, "Believe me if I could do it you would get
it".

So if you you find yourself sitting for what seems an inordinate amount of time, best to check with dispatch about this type of lock.

I sure hate to hear of something like that. Whenever we have had a lock put on us the status checks we do show this. When you did a status check there was nothing showing a lock was put on you? If we sit for 24 hours we call our CC and find out which direction we need to move if at all.

That is crazy. Especially when they don't tell you.
You should be awarded detention time for the period you weren't notified.
Talk about killing your income potential.

That certainly would have teed me off!! you should have gotten det.pay, I've never been here before, look for drivers that;s it. But I saw your with fedexcc. We have 2 trucks sitting right now. My husband became disabled and we don;t drive any more and can't keep a team,Our trucks are older but in very good shape. I don't suppose you know of any drivers, anywhere? Be safe out there.
