"By the way, I cannot understand why you van guys don't get a Webasto Ailrtop heater. Installation and costs, including a 2500W inverter, all hidden nice in compartment of sleeper, was appr. $1800. Turn on the switch/temp. setting, and heat pours out in two minutes. I stay warm in 63" sleeper, and fuel cost is negligible. Stock truck with 3 batteries, and I added a fourth. In the summer, turn on a rotating fan, get a roof fan, etc. If 90 and muggy, then I run the motor."
I am very satisfied with the Webasto, and I'm certain the Espar is of comparable quality. I just got the Airtop and didn't bother pricing the Espar.

I bought a tent heater off ebay. 85 bucks. Uses 2 pound propane tanks. I built a little shelf for it like you would find at a drive in resterant (sits outside the window) and made a window filler with holes for the inlet and outlet of the heater (it was made to operate outside) roll down the window, place tray, light heater and connect fan to cig plug. I don't know how many times I'd wake up at 3am sweeting because it was to hot in here. I think it is 10,000 BTU's..

Since I gutted a old RV I have a RV heater in my van with the tank under the body on the frame rail. Total cost of that jem.. Free..

I have an Espar in my van, and I love it.
Espar of Michigan installed it. The installation went smooth very professional.
This was my first winter with it and it worked to perfection. I will have the Espar installed in my next van.
It took a couple of days to learn how to set the thermostat so it was comfortable.
