EOBR "Truck Friendly" routing

The truck friendly part of the GPS does not seem to work very well. We have been routed down roads that say no trucks. We have also not been real impressed with the HazMar routing of the GPS.
The interesting part of the GPS is that when you get your load it populated the dispatch field of the GPS and you just touch the screen to activate you destination. Very nice that you do not have to type in anything. You still have to watch where you are going since as I said the routing is not perfect. I am just guessing but at this time I believe the routing is for a 13'6 truck and trailer. The GPS actually is better at finding addreses better then our Lowrance IWay 500C.

This part could be fun!! Another toy!! We get a lot of fun out of comparing Delorme, Streets and Trips and our new TND 500!! Just imagine the possibilities, 4 toys to work with!! Then, compare the entire mess to the Rand McNally Atlas and what we think is the best, fastest and safest route!!
All new toys can be fun. The only things that can ruin that fun is making those toys mandatory. Either by law or a carrier requirement.

We have found that the nav system is definitely not a replacement for a good gps unit. The problem with the Qualcom gps is that all the routing info is not stored in the unit itself.
If for whatever reason you are not able to take a road or street (road closed,accident,or whatever) and you ask the unit to recalculate a new route,it is not very quick at doing that and that is a real problem when you are moving.
What causes the delay is that it has to keep sending and receiving the info by sattelite,which can take time and can put you in a bad situation.
Our Garmin gps can recalculate in just a few seconds,while the Qualcomm unit can take up to several minutes and that is just not acceptable in the real world.

Interesting, Vepanino Graulas my good Friend Is a leaser for US Express now and they have a system that cant be beat.
I was able to check it out while I was in Texas. Very Very Good System they have there. Real Time GPS like the Garmin Ect. Realy neat. Oh yes and it does talk to.
